Assisi trip

Next week I will go back to Japan, before that I wanted to visit one beautiful place called Assisi.

I am not from a Christian country, and actually, I did not know Assisi before arriving in Italy even. However, I saw some Japanese people who have familiar with Italy recommended the place to visit on the net sometimes, and always I hoped to wish I could be there too.

From my husband's parent's home, it took around 2 hours and a half by car and this time I could visit finally.

I attracted the whiteness of the Basilica di San Francesco on the outside from the picture, but actually, it contained pink color more. It looked so sweet.

To enter the Basilica di San Francesco was for free and I could see much-colored fresco on the ceiling and walls.

San Francesco was the saint who dedicated his life to people who suffer the poorness. Inside the basilica, pictures were not allowed to be taken, but I could find the fresco describing the famous story of San Francesco that he spoke with the birds around the entrance of his grave place. The church was beautiful and gorgeous, but the atmosphere was calm, quiet, and peaceful too.

I could not watch the roman fresco about birds that I wanted to watch. I found the information in the guidebook I found the library.

Looked like that fresco was here.

Il Foro Romano e le Domus Romanae

My husband asked one friar about the information and he kindly told us we need to book to watch that and contact the tourist office. So, this time we could not see the bird fresco, but I still hoping to watch that next time.

Anyway, I could find the roman style fresco in the town like this too.

I like the bird around the bit left from the middle of the picture.

Moreover, I also did not know the pianist Franz Liszt wrote songs related to San Francesco. I would like to know more about this kind of thing too.

It was a happy trip I had in Italy.
